One of the key issues for staff considering moving jobs between service and education is around pensions and pension transfer between schemes.  As part of the StLaR HR Plan Project a StLaR HR Pensions Subgroup was convened in 2004 to put together pensions documentation to assist staff who may be considering a move between service and education sectors. 

 

There are three documents in this section: 

i)          'Moving jobs in the Public Sector' - what it means for your pension.

 

This document contains information relating to the Public Sector Transfer Club and provides explanations for a number of terms.  A section at the end of this document lists a number of frequently asked questions.

 

ii)         A comparison of public sector pensions schemes with contact details for each scheme.

 

iii)        Membership of the Pensions Sub Group.

 

The pensions section of this website is intended to provide general information to assist staff who may be considering changing employment and possibly pension schemes.

The Pensions subgroup cannot provide detailed advice on an individual’s pension and you should note that all public sector pension schemes are under review.
